CALABARZON LGRRC featured at 2016 Galing Pook Governance Fair

CALABARZON LGRRC featured at 2016 Galing Pook Governance Fair

QUEZON CITY - DILG IV-A as CALABARZON Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) joined the 3rd Galing Pook Governance Fair held on November 10-11, 2016 at Novotel Araneta Center, Quezon City along with Local Government Academy, Galing Pook Awardees, civil society organizations, and private enterprises. With the theme "Adapt+Innovate”, at the spotlight of the governance fair were good practices of local governments in terms of the overall welfare, protection and development of children.

Now on its second year as an exhibitor, CALABARZON LGRRC aimed to showcase the different programs of the Department particularly those in Outcome2: Socially Protective and Safe LGUs to complement Galing Pook’s Theme. Knowledge products and collaterals that were developed and produced by DILG IV-A and Multi-Sectoral Advisory Committee (MSAC) members such as Batangas State University, University of Rizal System, Manila Water and Maynilad were handed out to visitors who eagerly took their "selfies" and "groufies" at the DILG IV-A booth that doubles as a "photo booth". The brand identity of the Department served as the inspiration for the booth's theme bearing the words "Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahang Kagawaran para sa Mapagkalinga at Maunlad na Pamahalaang Lokal" a testament to what the department envisions itself to be known for.

Under the Public Education and Good Governance program facilities of the LGRC, the governance fair serves as venue for different organizations to learn from one other. CALABARZON LGRRC likewise finds this as an opportunity to promote various programs of the Department outside the regular activities and to strengthen collaboration with partner institutions, particularly the members of MSAC. Anchored in the key principles and strategies of LGRC, namely knowledge management, multi-stakeholdership, and convergence, DILG IV-A looks forward to more years of participating in this kind of undertakings to continuously advocate and adopt Knowledge Management (KM) to communities of public servants to improve their capacities towards the attainment of people’s growth and progress.
