The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) today urged residents of the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal to defer non-essential travel to the rest of the country and even within the bubble area to contain the surge of COVID cases in the country.
A year after the government declared a state of public health emergency placing the country in lockdown and community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to adequate and safe water remains scarce.
Following the surge of COVID-19 cases in the Greater Metro Manila area, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) called on the Philippine National Police and concerned local government units (LGUs) and barangays to strictly impose the prohibition on any form of mass gathering in the National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby areas of Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna from March 22 to April 4, 2021.
In preparation for the full implementation of the national contact tracing system, the Department of the Interior and Local Government today asked LGUs to stop developing their own systems and use the Stay Safe application instead.
