ADVISORY | Implementation of Total Lockdown relative to the Taal Volcano Eruption

DILG, as Vice-Chair on Disaster Preparedness, called for a Special Committee Meeting on Disaster Preparedness today, January 24, 2020, to address certain issues and concerns in the implementation of total lockdown relative to the Taal Volcano Eruption.

The said special meeting were attended by Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In line with the DILG Advisory dates January 22, 2020 from Secretary Eduardo Año, Total LOCKDOWN will still be strictly implemented in the HIGH RISK AREAS stated in the list from PHIVOLCS regarding of portion/percentage or type of hazard

HIGH RISK AREAS will refer to all barangays stated in the list generated by PHIVOLCS attached in the advisory dated January 22, 2020 from Secretary Eduardo Año, regardless if within or outside of 14 km radius of volcano. The discretion of the LCEs to allow business operations will ONLY apply to those business situated OUTSIDE of the HIGH RISK AREAS without compromising public safety and interest

The residents of BARANGAYS NOT LISTED as HIGH RISK AREAS may opt to return to their respective residences.

No windows hour shall be implemented to ensure the safety of both the affected community and the ground troops.
