DILG Laguna Conducts Orientation on Localization of the Magna Carta of Women
In adherence to RA 9710 otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women, and to strengthen the capabilities in localization and implementation of the said law, an activity entitled “Localization of the Magna Cart of Women: Orientation on the PCW-DILG-DBM-NEDA JMC 2016-01 cum Team Building” was held last June 24-25, 2016 at Amazing View Resort in Mabitac, Laguna.
Attended by officers and personnel of DILG Laguna, the activity aimed to review the provisions of Magna Carta of Women specifically the amendments made in the recent JMC (Joint Memorandum Circular). This is also to enhance the capabilities of the DILG Laguna officers in providing technical assistance in the barangays as well as in the municipal and city levels. The activity also became the venue as the office (DILG Laguna) identified issues and challenges which its personnel encounter in the implementation of JMC 2013-01. Team DILG Laguna also took the opportunity as it created solutions to address the problems encountered in the past years.
In her message, DILG Laguna OIC-Provincial Director Marita B. Del Valle stressed the importance of integrating GAD (Gender and Development) in all projects and the vital role of DILG in making the goals of RA 9710 a reality. She also reiterated importance of the activity in the improvement of DILG field operations. Resource speakers who shared their inputs and knowledge on GAD were LGOO V Annalyn M. Angulo, GAD Regional Focal Person, and LGOO III Harry Toledo, Alternate Regional GAD Focal Person, both from DILG IV-A Regional Office.
