48 CALABARZON LGUS AWARDED AT THE 2024 NATIONAL SGLG AWARDS

THE MANILA HOTEL, METRO MANILA—On December 10, 2024, the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance was conferred upon forty-eight (48) LGUs from Region IV-A for their successful pursuits for excellence in local governance.
Undersecretary for Local Government Atty. Odilon L. Pasaraba, CESO III introduced the resource speaker, Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino. In his message, Sen. Tolentino imparted warm congratulations to the awardees, naming the LGUs as the “bedrock of the nation’s development,” applauding their dedication to transparency, accountability, and integrity through leadership that strives continuously toward progress. He observed this recognition of excellence as a call to action not just to LGUs, but to all Filipinos to celebrate good leadership and governance wherever it is found, and to emulate these examples.
Following Senator Tolentino, Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo L. Iringan, CESO III introduced DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr., who shared an inspiring anecdote about public service as an avenue for unity, citing his own experiences in his home province of Cavite as an example of success through a united front aimed toward good governance, which resulted in fifteen (15) out of twenty-three (23) LGUs from Cavite qualifying for the 2024 SGLG in CALABARZON.
The total of forty-eight (48) SGLG awardees marks a significant increase from the total of thirty-seven (37) SGLG awardees last year. Of the 48 LGUs, these three (3) LGUs, namely 1.) City of Bacoor, Cavite 2.) City of Carmona, Cavite and 3.) City of San Pedro, Laguna, were also recognized for their eight (8) consecutive years of qualifying for the SGLG.
The following LGUs in CALABARZON were also lauded, and are the recipients of Incentive Funds (SGLG-IF) to aid in the establishment and improvement of their Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) for FY 2025, and provide financial support to further elevate their performance in good local governance:

Successful SGLG-IF projects were also featured in an exhibit showcasing their significant contributions to the beneficiaries. Region IV-A contributed an Audio-Visual Presentation, which featured five (5) LGUs with High-Impact SGLG-IF Projects:

-San Jose, Batangas;
-Morong, Rizal; and
-Pagbilao, Quezon
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is an institutionalized annual assessment of LGU performance to ensure excellence in local governance.
