Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, together with officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and City Government of Tagaytay, led on Monday morning the inauguration of the new P38-million Tagaytay Component City Police Station (CCPS) which is a testament to the city government’s commitment for its peace and development.

Abalos said he is impressed with the new police station and commended Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham Tolentino for practicing good leadership in advancing the LGU’s development.

“Progress is always intertwined with peace and order. If there is no peace and order, it’s hard for a place to have progress. And ever since, Tagaytay has always found its place as one of the premiere destinations in the country. Hindi ka pupunta dito kung magulo dito,” he said.

“It has always been well-managed. Dito napakaraming negosyo dahil lahat ng development, all aspects of leadership na-practice ninyo,” he added.

The construction of the new two-storey Tagaytay CCPS located along Brgy. Mendez Crossing West with a 944-square meter area was funded from a congressional initiative allocation by then Congressman Tolentino and built on a land owned by the Tagaytay LGU through a deed of usufruct.

During the brief ceremony, the DILG Secretary asked the Tagaytay City Police to focus on cybercrimes which are victimizing more and more Filipinos in this digital age.

He also urged the active participation of the different sectors of the society, particularly the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils in the whole-of-nation anti-illegal drugs advocacy program Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan.

PNP Acting Deputy Director for Logistics PBGen Neri Vincent Ignacio, who represented the PNP Chief, said, “This impressive new building symbolizes the physical embodiment of our commitment to serve and protect, and the spirit of unity and cooperation that defines the beloved city of Tagaytay.”
