The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) instructed BFP Chief Louie Puracan to immediately probe the incident that happened earlier today in Binondo, Manila, where several electric posts collapsed, hurting three individuals and damaging eight parked vehicles.

The BFP has likewise been instructed to coordinate with the private electric company that owns the electric posts to provide assistance to the affected individuals and help in clearing out the area.

Meanwhile, all local government units (LGUs) are enjoined to inspect electric posts, construction sites, billboards, and other similar installations that may collapse during heavy rains. A memorandum circular will be issued regarding the matter to ensure compliance and prompt action.
