With six (6) more days to go before the deadline, 18 LGUs in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus area have already completed their distribution of Ayuda to qualified beneficiaries in their areas, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año said that the 18 LGUs have finished the distribution of a total of P1.93-billion in ayuda amounting to a maximum of P4,000 per family even before the deadline on May 15, 2021. He said that most LGUs within the NCR Plus bubble are on track to completing their distribution and are currently working round the clock to meet the deadline.
“Eighteen LGUs have already crossed the finish line as they have already distributed the full amount of ayuda downloaded to them by the national government. Puspusan pa rin ang pamamahagi ng iba pang LGUs sa NCR Plus at karamihan naman sa kanila ay patapos na rin sa kanilang pamimigay,” Año said.
“We commend these 18 LGUs for a job well done! Mabuhay po kayo,” he added.
Año said that of the 18 LGU ayuda finishers as of May 8, 2021, 13 are in Laguna, namely the City of Biñan; City of Cabuyao; City of San Pedro; City of Santa Rosa; Alaminos; Calauan; Famy; Magdalena; Nagcarlan; Paete; Pila; Rizal; and Santa Cruz.
Other LGUs which registered 100 percent distribution rate are Guiguinto and Pandi in Bulacan and City of Tagaytay, Amadeo, and Naic in Cavite. LGUs in the Province of Rizal have not finished their ayuda distribution but Cardona is close with 95.94 percent.
“We commend these LGUs who have now finished their financial aid dissemination for their commitment and partnership with the national government in this very tedious task. Dahil sa inyong sipag at pagtitiyaga, naipadama natin sa mga mamamayan ang kalinga ng pamahalaan,” Año said.
81% distribution rate in entire NCR Plus
The DILG Secretary said that more than P18.6-billion have been distributed to qualified recipients in all of the LGUs within the NCR Plus bubble corresponding to a 80.95 percent distribution rate.
He said that Laguna also tallied the highest percentage of ayuda distribution among the NCR Plus bubble with 93.84 percent followed by NCR with 81.92 percent; Bulacan with 80.52 percent; Rizal with 74.41 percent; and Cavite with 72.99 percent.
He said NCR LGUs are also on a roll as most have registered more than 90 percent distribution rate as of May 8 headed by the Municipality of Pateros with 97.28 percent closely followed by Caloocan City with 97.18 percent; Quezon City with 95.97 percent; City of Manila with 95 percent; Pasay City with 93.47 percent; Mandaluyong with 93.02 percent; San Juan City with 92.66 percent; and, Navotas City with 90.68 percent.
“Some of the reasons that LGUs have not yet completed their ayuda distribution are the huge number of beneficiaries, the big number of appeals that are undergoing deliberation, the tedious and lengthy process of partnering with banks and remittance centers for ayuda payout for those doing electronic distribution, and the difficulty of mobilizing personnel in this time of pandemic,” he said.
“Despite these challenges, however, we are confident na matatapos rin nila ang pagbibigay ayuda sa takdang oras,” he added.
