Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos on Friday said the whole Department, together with its nine attached agencies, are all hands on deck in helping usher a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ through its first-ever Department-wide Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

Bagong Pilipinas, the overarching theme of the brand of governance and leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., is characterized by a principled, accountable, and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society, whose common objective is to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.

Importante rito ay talagang magkakasama-sama tayo ng lubos para sa iisang adhikain. That’s the only way we continue to help our President and our country na maganda ang magiging output at contribution natin,” said Abalos said during the recent launch of the DILG Strategic Plan (StratPlan) 2023-2028 in Quezon City.

Anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028, the DILG StratPlan is the blueprint for pursuing its aspirations and priority strategies over the next five years, supportive of the 8-point Socio-Economic Agenda and Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance of President Marcos, Jr.

No person can do it alone. No Department can do it alone. All of us should be working together,” he emphasized to the officials and personnel of the DILG and its attached agencies.

He said the new DILG StratPlan adopts a forward-thinking approach amid rapid changes in the political, socio-cultural, economic, and technological spheres in the country as well as regional and international landscapes.

It aims, among others, to sustain accountable, transparent, and people-centric local governments; propel innovative and future-ready local governments; bolster peace and order and security of communities; and enhance humane safekeeping and facilitate productive social reintegration of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
