Forty-five (45) former rebels (FRs) from the Province of Quezon received cash assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) of the Department of the Interior andLocal Government in coordination with the Provincial Government of Quezon on June 14, 2021 at the Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City.
The financial benefits intended for their development include but are not limited to the following: reintegration assistance (Php 21,000.00), livelihood assistance (Php 50,000.00), immediate assistance (Php 15,000), firearms, explosives, and ammunitions remuneration, access to government services, medical assistance, legal assistance, housing, modified conditional cash transfer, loan and market access, alternative learning system, psychosocial assistance, college tuition and stipend, and conditional transitional grant (Php 5,000.00).
Regional Director of DILG IV-A Ariel O. Iglesia, DILG Quezon Provincial Director Darrell I. Dizon, 202nd Brigade Commander BGEN Alex S Rillera PA, and 201st Brigade Commander BGEN Norwyn Romeo P Tolentino joined Quezon Province Governor Hon. Danilo E. Suarez, Vice Governor Hon. Samuel B. Nantes, Provincial Social Welfare Department Head Sonia Leyson, and Provincial Attorney/Acting Provincial Administrator Geoff Lynn D. San Agustin in the distribution of the cash assistance to the FRs.
RD Ariel O. Iglesia emphasized that though the government condemns the revolutionary parties/groups and their ideological fallacies, the government still aims to provide programs such as ECLIP for their benefit to encourage them to have a better, normal, and safe life.
The Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) is a program of the administration under the Executive Order No. 70 which follows the Whole-of-Nation approach aiming to assist members of revolutionary groups particularly the CPP-NPA-NDF and the Militia ng Bayan to start anew life away from the organization.
