First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos (LAM) on Tuesday (January 9) brought her centerpiece charity project “Lab 4 All” Caravan in Quezon Province, where over 3,000 residents availed of free consultation, laboratory services, and medicines.
The activity, which was held at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City, was part of the Marcos administration’s continuing initiatives of providing primary health care services to the public especially to the poor.
Lab 4 All, or “Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot para sa Lahat” program, is in line with the administration’s commitment of bringing public service closer to the people.
“This is our way of bringing government service closer to the people. Hopefully, with our private and public sector partners, lumaki pa ito at mas maraming matulungan,” LAM said.
The project is supported by various government agencies, including the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The Quezon Province Leg is the first Lab4All Caravan for 2024 and is the 18th province to be visited by the program.
Medical teams from the DILG’s interior sector, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), joined in providing free medical, dental, and optometric services for the Quezon citizens.
DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos hailed the continued implementation of the Lab4All Caravan and assured his agency’s full support to the project.
“Hindi na kailangang pumila at magbayad ng ating mga kababayan para magpatingin sa doktor, sumailalim sa mga lab test o bumili ng gamot,” Abalos said.
“Dahil sa programang ito, dinadala na natin ang mga pangunahing serbisyong medikal sa taumbayan gaya ng ipinangako ni Pangulong Marcos,” he continued.
Among the laboratory services provided in the caravan are the Complete Blood Count (CBC), urinalysis, Fasting and Random Blood Sugar (FBS & RBS), cholesterol, fecalysis, electrocardiogram (ECG), and PPD Test (tuberculosis).
Vaccinations against flu and pneumonia are also free for senior citizens, barangay health workers, pregnant women, and military personnel.
