The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) strongly denounces the bombing incident that took place at Mindanao State University in Marawi City early this morning that killed at least four people and injured several others.

Ang prayoridad ng pamahalaan sa panahong ito ay ang seguridad at kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan sa lugar.

Acting on the instructions of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, I have directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to send troops to set up checkpoints and enhance police visibility to protect the residents and maintain peace and order in the area.

Inatasan ko rin ang PNP na tugisin ang mga walang-kaluluwang tao ot grupo na nasa likod ng pambobombang ito sa loob mismo ng unibersidad at habang isinasagawa ang misa.

This is clearly the handiwork of terrorists who want to sow fear, chaos, and confusion among the populace. Hindi man lang nila nirespeto ang institusyon ng simbahan at paaralan!

Violence has no place in the Bagong Pilipinas. We assure our people, especially the families of the victims, that we will apply the full force of the law and employ all legal means to bring the perpetrators to justice.
