President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, together with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, led on Friday morning the distribution of financial and other forms of assistance to the beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) to honor uniformed personnel who were killed or wounded in the line of duty.

During the “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan” (PBBM) thanksgiving with CSBP beneficiaries, the President assured the continued delivery of assistance to all qualified beneficiaries of CSBP under his administration.

The CSBP provides different types of benefits and assistance, such as but not limited to: (a) special financial assistance; (b) Shelter Assistance; (c) Health and Medical Care Assistance; (d) Educational Assistance; (e) Employment Assistance; and (f) Social Welfare Assistance.

Meanwhile, according to Secretary Abalos, over P777-million has already been granted to CSBP beneficiaries since 2016, of which P468.75-million was given as special financial assistance while P308.45-million was given as shelter assistance.

The DILG serves as the CSBP lead implementing agency through the Killed and Wounded-in-Action One Stop Assistance Program Management Office (KIA/WIA OSA-PMO), which ensures that assistance from different government agencies are coordinated and delivered timely.
