Remulla: Unified 911 System Reinforces Public Trust in Government

MANILA — Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla emphasized on Thursday that the official rollout of the Unified 911 System is a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to good governance through responsive, timely, and efficient public service.

This in line with the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to restore public trust and ensure that every Filipino feels secure in their communities.

We are the first responders. We are the last hope. This is governance,” Secretary Remulla stated, highlighting the critical role of emergency services in nation-building.

Speaking during the ceremonial launch, the DILG Chief hailed the Unified 911 System as a landmark initiative in public service delivery. “For the first time, people will now have one number to call. People are assured of a response. People can rely on the government,” he said.

The DILG affirmed that the Unified 911 System will be fully operational before the end of the year.

The centralized emergency hotline will cater to calls related to criminal activity, health emergencies, fire incidents, mental health concerns, and suspicious behavior. It will serve as a single point of contact, seamlessly integrating the response efforts of local government units (LGUs), the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

This is the DILG’s long-standing aspiration — to establish a unified emergency response platform where the PNP, BFP, and BJMP work hand-in-hand to serve and protect the Filipino people,” Secretary Remulla added.

The BFP reiterated its commitment to a modernized, coordinated, and people-centered emergency response system — one that guarantees that help is always within reach.
