The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has received reports that an individual is using the name and photo of Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla to contact public officials and request financial assistance purportedly for a foundation allegedly affected by a fire incident in Bocaue, Bulacan.

We wish to make it clear that these calls did not originate from Secretary Remulla or from any office of the DILG.

The Secretary does not solicit financial assistance.

We strongly advise all public officials and the public not to entertain such requests and to immediately report similar incidents to authorities. The DILG is coordinating with law enforcement agencies to address this matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
